Courses available:

Massage for Joint Pain: Upper & Body (Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hip, Knee, Ankle) 16 CEUs - 

Tuition: $400 (This course is also available as either Upper Body for 8 CEUs or Lower Body for 8 CEUs, and they do not need to be taken together.)
Please bring to class:  Massage table (only for Philadelphia), massage cream/oil/lotion, set of sheets.  All other materials included.

In this fast paced world of non-stop action, on-the-go lifestyles, and little time to rest and properly care for our bodies, our joints get overused, stressed, injured, and create limited range of motion. With safe stretching, strengthening and care, our joints can begin to repair themselves and eliminate and/or drastically reduce pain. This course is broken into two sections; upper body and lower body. In the upper body portion, we will focus on the shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints.  In the lower body portion, we will focus on the hip, knee, and ankle joints.  Stretching techniques such as PNF, AIS, Thai Massage, and MET will be explored, along with more advanced techniques such as Neuromuscular, Myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.

Prenatal Massage: From Conception through postpartum 14 CEUs -

Tuition: $350 
Please bring to class:  Massage table (only for Philadelphia), set of sheets, massage cream/oil/lotion, 2 large pillows (twin, queen or king size is fine), body pillow if available, 2-5 throw pillows.  All other materials included.

The year of pregnancy and postpartum can be quite trying both mentally and physically. Many women experience physical ailments such as swollen feet, back pain, hip issues and more. A common concern among pregnant women is emotional distress as well. Massage during and just after pregnancy can help reduce pain and stress by creating a calming effect as well as help to relieve pain. This course is intended to provide students with a greater knowledge of pregnancy and how it affects women in both a physical and emotional way. Students will leave this course feeling confident in working with pregnant clients and providing them safe and comfortable treatment during and just after their pregnancy.

Sports Massage: From "weekend warrior" to professional athlete, sports massage for all athletic levels: 12 CEUs - 

Tuition: $300

During this class students will learn a variety of sports massage techniques & stretches that can be used before, during and after sports events on the athletes involved in the event.  Runners, dancers, baseball players, soccer players, tennis players and more, are just a small sampling of the type of client who can benefit from sports massage.  This class will give students and deeper understanding of which muscles and muscle groups are involved in various sports as well as what actions those muscles perform during the sport.  PNF stretching, trigger point release, Active Isolated Stretching, deep tissue work, and more are just a few of the techniques that will be taught during this course.

Hot Stone Massage: The Basics 12 CEUs -  

Tuition: $300

In this hot stone massage course, students will learn how to effectively utilize hot basalt stones during a massage therapy session. This course will give students basic knowledge of hot stone massage along with some advanced hot stone massage techniques. Students will learn contraindications and indications, safe handling and cleaning of the stones, as well as a basic hot stone massage session. After this introductory course, students will have mastered the handling, application, and sanitization of hot basalt stones.

Owning a business is, let’s face it, serious business!  In this course, students will learn the basics of owning and operating a massage therapy business.  From writing and understanding a business plan, to time management, to local, state, and federal rules and regulations, this course takes a serious look at what owning a massage therapy business is all about.  Students will receive sample handouts which include, elements of a well thought out business plan, a sample business ledger, financial worksheets, and more.  The goal of this course is to give students the confidence to be their own boss and have a successful business.

Sickle Cell Disease is a congenital, genetic blood disorder which affects people of all ethnic backgrounds.  This disease is an extremely painful, difficult to treat illness which affects millions of people all over the world.  This course is designed to give massage therapy practitioners an introductory understanding of this illness and various massage therapy techniques that can help ease the pain of the sickle cell patient.  At the end of this course, participants should feel comfortable working with patients suffering from sickle cell disease, and working within their limits.
